## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ARRIVED ON SCENE AS AIRPORT MAINTENANCE CREW WAS RIGHTING AIRCRAFT IN PLACE.

A/C WAS 4 MONTHS OLD TO ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^PILOT WHO HAS FLOWN IT ~32 HOURS ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^. ALL THAT TIME HAD BEEN WITH INSTRUCTORS WHO COMMENTED THAT THE PLANE PULLED SIGNIFICANTLY TO THE RIGHT BUT WAS CONTROLLABLE. THE MAJORITY OF INSTRUCTION CAME FROM A HIGHLY RESPECTED DPE/INSTRUCTOR IN THE AREA WHOSE EXPERIENCE WOULD BE ABOVE REPROACH.

IN RESPONSE, THE ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ TOOK THE AIRCRAFT TO A PILOT/MECHANIC FOR AN OPERATOR ON THE FIELD WITH MULTIPLE 185S, WHO CHECKED THE ALIGNMENT WITH GREASE PLATES IAW CESSNA 100 SERIES MM, AND MADE SIGNIFICANT CHANGES TO THE RIGHT AXLE SHIM SET. THAT PILOT FLEW THE A/C POST MAINTENANCE WITH NO DISCREPANCIES OR UNUSUAL TENDENCIES NOTED.

DUE TO THE HIGH TIME INSTRUCTOR BEING OUT OF TOWN, THE PILOT SECURED THE USE OF ANOTHER INSTRUCTOR ON THE FIELD TO ACT AS SAFETY PILOT FOR THE FIRST FLIGHT. A/C TOOK OFF WITH NO ISSUE, MADE NORMAL WHEEL LANDING APPROACH WITH FLAPS 30. A/C TOUCHED DOWN NORMALLY AND TRACKED TRUE UNTIL POWER REDUCED DURING ROLLOUT, WHEN A/C VEERED HARD TO THE RIGHT. ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^PILOT REAPPLIED POWER RETURNED TO FLIGHT AND PATTERN FOR A SECOND ATTEMPT. CONTROL WAS GIVEN TO THE INSTRUCTOR FOR THE SECOND LANDING TO ENSURE NOTHING WAS MISSED OR INCORRECT. SECOND LANDING WAS SAME UNTIL POWER REDUCED AGAIN, AT WHICH TIME A/C VEERED AGAIN HARD RIGHT. CFI ATTEMPTED TO STAY WITH THE LANDING RATHER THAN GO AROUND, AND WOULD HAVE ROLLED THROUGH IT HAD THE WINTER ACCUMULATION OF SNOW ALONG THE RUNWAY NOT INTERFERED.

A/C WAS EXITING THE PAVED SURFACE ROUGHLY 45 DEGREES OF RUNWAY HEADING AT ~35 KNOTS WHEN THE MAINS AND LOW LEFT WING HIT THE SNOW PILE AND ROLLED ONTO ITS BACK COMING TO REST INVERTED WITH MINIMAL DAMAGE. ONLY PART OF A/C THAT HIT THE GROUND (NOT SNOW) WAS THE LEFT WINGTIP. NEITHER SPAR APPEARED TO BE BENT WITH ONLY SURFACE DENTS IN THE LE CUFF, VERTICAL FIN FAIRING, PROP BLADE AND COWLING. NO INJURIES RECEIVED.

09/02/2021: AMENDMENT WAS MADE AFTER DETERMINATION FROM ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^THAT NO STRUCTURES OR FLIGHT CONTROLS WERE DAMAGED AS ANNOTATED IN NTSB 830.2. EVENT IS CHANGED FROM ACCIDENT TO INCIDENT. ALL ELSE REMAINS UNCHANGED. BNH
