## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE PILOT STATED THAT WHEN HIS WIFE AND HIM DEPARTED E70 ON APRIL 19TH IN GRUMMAN N28249 FOR 50R TO DO SOME TOUCH AND GOES. WE DID A FEW TOUCH AND GOES. THE AIR TRAFFIC WAS GETTING HEAVY WITH OTHER AIRCRAFT TRAINING STUDENTS SO I TOLD MY WIFE WE SHOULD GO TO T20 FOR GAS AND THEN RETURN TO E70. WHEN I ARRIVED AT T20 THERE WAS NOT MUCH WIND SO I WENT DOWN WIND OF RUNWAY 15. I TURNED FINAL FOR RUNWAY 15, AS I SAID THERE WAS NO CROSS WIND OF THE RUNWAY. I PASSED OVER THE RUNWAY NUMBERS ROUNDED OUT AND PUT A LITTLE PRESSURE ON THE YOKE FOR A FEW SECONDS AND THEN PULLED BACK FOR THE FLARE. I WAITED UNTIL THE ENERGY OF THE AIRCRAFT WAS GONE AND THEN LOWERED THE NOSE. WHEN THE NOSE WHEEL TOUCHED THE GROUND THE AIRCRAFT VEERED OFF TO THE RIGHT AND WENT OFF OF THE RUNWAY AND ON TO THE GRASS. THE AIRCRAFT TRAVELLED ABOUT A HUNDRED YARDS OR MORE AND STRUCK A POLE THAT SECURED THE BEACON. THERE WAS FUEL LEAK SO I CALLED THE FIRE DEPARTMENT, LOCAL POLICE, THE AIRPORT MANAGER AND THE FAA AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. THIS INCIDENT HAPPENED APPROXIMATELY 14:30 LOCAL.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN21LA214](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN21LA214), Apr 19, 2021: Gulfstream American AA-5B (N28249), Gonzales, TX, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s failure to maintain directional control during landing that resulted in a runway excursion and collision with a pole.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
