## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOT DEPARTED HOM WITH 15 GALLONS OF FUEL. THE AIRCRAFT BURNS 4 GALLONS PER HOUR. AT THE TIME OF DESCENT, THE AIRCRAFT FLEW 2.3 HOURS TO BCV. THE PILOT STATED HIS FUEL GAUGES INDICATED JUST BELOW 1/4 TANK ON THE RIGHT AND JUST ABOVE 1/4 TANK ON THE LEFT. HE SELECTED THE FULLEST TANK BEFORE DESCENT. THE PILOT DIDN'T LIKE THE CONDITIONS IN THE FLARE AND INITIATED A GO-AROUND. THE FLIGHT MANUAL STATES NOT TO INITIATE TAKEOFF WITH LESS THAN 1/4 TANK. AT APPROXIMATELY 100 FEET ABOVE THE TREES, THE ENGINE QUIT. THE PILOT EXECUTED AN EMERGENCY LANDING OFF AIRPORT RESULTING IN SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT AND NO INJURIES TO PILOT OR PASSENGER.
