## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON 04/26/2021, AT 1945Z, A BOEING/STEARMAN, N56760, PILOTED BY ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^, ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ WAS INVOLVED IN AN AIRCRAFT ACCIDENT ON RUNWAY 28 AT KAPA. THE FLIGHT ORIGINATED AT KGXY AS A DAY VFR FLIGHT TO KAPA AND DEPARTED AT APPROXIMATELY 1315L. THE FLIGHT WAS REPORTED TO BE UNEVENTFUL BY THE PILOT UNTIL LANDING AT KAPA. THE PILOT RECEIVED THE ATIS FROM KAPA WHILE INBOUND TO THE AIRPORT AND REPORTED THAT THE WINDS WERE OUT OF THE NORTH GUSTING TO 20 KNOTS. HOWEVER, WHEN THE PILOT CONTACTED KAPA TOWER FOR LANDING CLEARANCE THE CONTROLLER REPORTED THE WIND FAVORING RUNWAY 28. THE CONTROLLER ISSUED THE LANDING CLEARANCE FOR RUNWAY 28 AND UPDATED THE WIND CONDITIONS TO 290 DEGREES AT 7 KNOTS WHILE THE AIRCRAFT WAS ON AN APPROXIMATE TWO MILE FINAL. THE AIRCRAFT TOUCHED DOWN ON RUNWAY 28 WITH BOTH MAINS AT THE SAME TIME AND THE PILOT DID NOT REPORT ANY CROSSWIND CONDITIONS. AS THE AIRCRAFT WAS SLOWING TO A TAXI SPEED AND THE TAIL WHEEL WAS TOUCHING DOWN THE AIRCRAFT EXPERIENCED A RIGHT YAW. THE PILOT ATTEMPTED TO CORRECT THE YAW EXCURSION, BUT THE AIRCRAFT THEN VEERED TO THE LEFT. THE AIRCRAFT DEPARTED RUNWAY 28, NOSED OVER AND CAME TO REST INVERTED. AN AIRWORTHINESS INSPECTION REVELAED NO MECHANICAL ISSUES.
