## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOT STATED UPON LANDING TO THE SOUTH AT THE HOME AIRSTRIP, HE APPLIED BRAKES AND THE TIRES LOCKED-UP ON WET GRASS. WHILE WORKING THE BRAKES AND RUDDER PEDALS TO KEEP THE AIRCRAFT GOING STRAIGHT, THE AIRCRAFT STARTED TO SLIDE TOWARD A DITCH ALONG THE LEFT SIDE OF THE RUNWAY, OVER THE CROWN OF THE CENTERLINE OF THE RUNWAY. AT THAT TIME, THE AIRCRAFT CONTACTED A DRY PATCH OF GRASS WHILE THE AIRCRAFT WAS GOING DOWNHILL AND THEN HIT A BUMP CAUSING THE TAIL TO COME UP. PILOT COULD NOT RECOVER AND AIRCRAFT FLIPPED, TAIL OVER NOSE AND CAME TO REST ON IT'S BACK. PILOT AND PASSENGER RELEASED THEIR SAFETY HARNESS'S AND EXITED THE AIRCRAFT UNINJURED.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ANC21LA036](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ANC21LA036), May 6, 2021: Piper PA-22-150 (N7850D), Willow, AK, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilots over application of the brakes while landing on a wet grass runway, which resulted in a loss of control and nose-over.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
