## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON 5/8/21 AT APPROXIMATELY 1100 LOCAL, AIRCRAFT DEPARTED EXX AND WAS INBOUND FOR JQF WITH A STUDENT IN THE LEFT SEAT AND CFI IN THE RIGHT SEAT. WHEN THE AIRCRAFT WAS APPROXIMATELY 2 NM OUT FROM JQF TURBULENCE BEGAN TO INCREASE, CROSSWINDS WERE EXPERIENCED AND CFI CALLED THE CONTROLS. JUST PRIOR TO TOUCH DOWN, THE AIRCRAFT GOT PUSHED TO THE LEFT OF CENTERLINE IN A CROSSWIND AND CONTINUED ONTO THE GRASS WHERE THE PIC WAS ABLE TO SAFELY BRING THE AIRCRAFT TO REST. NO INJURIES WERE REPORTED.

INSPECTOR OPINION: ACTION BY THE PIC ALLOWED FOR A SAFE AND CONTROLLED STOP RATHER THAN APPLYING HARD BRAKING AND LOSING CONTROL OF THE AIRCRAFT BY POSSIBLY OVER-CORRECTING. THIS WAS SOLELY A WEATHER INCIDENT. (SAS REF. ID EA68202102500)

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
