## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

EVIDENCE OF THE WRECKAGE FROM N104GX INDICATES THAT THE AIRCRAFT ATTEMPTED TO LAND ON RUNWAY 22 RIGHT AT THE MATHER AIRPORT. DAMAGE AND THE PILOT'S STATEMENT INDICATES THAT THE AIRCRAFT TOUCH DOWN ON THE RUNWAY THEN SWERVED LEFT DUE TO A CROSSWIND CAUSING THE RIGHT WING TIP TO STRIKE THE PAVEMENT FIRST. THE AIRCRAFT THEN WENT INTO THE GRASS ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE 22 RIGHT RUNWAY CAUSING THE AIRCRAFT TO LEAN LEFT AND STRIKE THE LEFT WINGTIP. THE AIRCRAFT'S NOSEWHEEL THEN COLLAPSED CAUSING THE PROPELLER TO STRIKE THE GROUND. SIGNATURES FROM THE

PROPELLER INDICATE THAT THE ENGINE WAS OPERATING AT THE TIME OF THE

ACCIDENT. THE PILOT EXITED THE AIRCRAFT WITH NO INJURIES.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR21LA187](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR21LA187), May 9, 2021: Remos Acft Gmbh Flugzeugbau Remos GX (N104GX), Sacramento, CA, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s failure to maintain directional control during landing in gusty wind conditions which resulted in a runway excursion and collision with terrain.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
