## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON MAY 12, 2021 AT APPROXIMATELY 0830 THE PILOT OF N67TR, AN EXPERIMENTAL AMATEUR BUILT AIRPLANE EXPERIENCED A LOSS OF ENGINE POWER. THE PILOT WAS MANEUVERING APPROXIMATELY 8 MILES SOUTH OF THE BAY BRIDGE AIRPORT, STEVENSVILLE, MD (W29) WHEN PREPARING TO ENTER THE TRAFFIC PATTERN SHE NOTICED THE EXHAUST SOUNDED LOUDER THAN NORMAL. THEN WITHOUT WARNING THE ENGINE QUIT. THE PILOT WAS ABLE TO MAKE A SUCCESSFUL EMERGENCY OFF FIELD LANDING IN A FARM FIELD APPROXIMATELY 8 MILES SOUTH OF W29. DURING HER LANDING ROLLOUT SHE HIT A HEDGE ROW OF SMALL TREES AND BRUSH CAUSING ONLY MINOR DAMAGE TO THE AIRPLANE. THE INVESTIGATION REVEALED THAT THE LYCOMING 0-290 ENGINE HAD SUFFERED A BROKEN CRANKSHAFT. THE ENGINE HAD ONLY 26 HOURS SINCE OVERHAUL. THE TOTAL TIME RECORDED PREVIOUS TO THE OVERHAUL WAS 1200 HOURS ACCORDING TO THE ENGINE LOGBOOKS.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
