## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE AIRCRAFT WAS RETURNING TO KVGT FROM 1G4 (GRAND CANYON WEST AIRPORT). AT APPROXIMATELY 4:10 PM (PDT) THE PILOT EXECUTED A NORMAL LANDING ON RWY 12R USING PARTIAL FLAPS DUE TO THE CROSSWIND. AFTER TOUCHDOWN HE ELECTED TO RETRACT THE FLAPS TO ASSIST WITH DIRECTIONAL CONTROL (CROSSWIND) AND INCREASE WEIGHT ON THE MAINS TO AID IN BRAKING. THE PILOT INADVERTENTLY PLACED THE GEAR SWITCH TO THE ?UP? POSITION FOR APPROXIMATELY 1-2 SECONDS BEFORE HE REALIZED THE ERROR AND RETURNED IT TO THE ?DOWN? POSITION. ABOUT TWO SECONDS LATER, THE NOSE GEAR COLLAPSED AND THE AIRCRAFT SLID TO A STOP ON THE RUNWAY.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
