## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON JUNE 4, 2021 AT APPROXIMATELY 1730 LOCAL, THE^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^PILOT AND A FAMILY MEMBER WERE FLYING N8208N IN PREPARATION FOR A SALE SCHEDULED THE NEXT DAY. ON THEIR 3RD TAKEOFF FROM THE PRIVATE AIRPORT, THE ENGINE FAILED APPROXIMATELY 100 FEET ABOVE THE GROUND AND 2/3'S DOWN THE RUNWAY. KNOWING THERE WAS A FENCE AND A DITCH AT THE END OF THE RUNWAY, THE PILOT ATTEMPTED TO LAND ON THE ROAD ADJACENT TO THE RUNWAY. THE AIRCRAFT IMPACTED TREES ALONG THE ROAD. NEITHER THE PILOT NOR THE PASSENGER SUFFERED ANY REPORTABLE INJURIES.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN21LA249](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN21LA249), Jun 4, 2021: Piper PA28 (N8208N), Justin, TX, substantial damage. Probable cause: The loss of engine power for undetermined reasons based upon the available information.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
