## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOT STATED HE ARRIVED AT CHANDALAR LAKE AFTER DEPARTING FAIRBANKS. HE CHECKED RUNWAY CONDITIONS AND THE DIRECTION OF THE WINDSOCK. HE CHECKED AIRSPEED VS. GROUND SPEED TWICE AND CONFIRMED HE HAD 8 KNOTS OF WIND ON THE NOSE AND INDICATED THERE WERE NO ABNORMAL WINDS. UPON ATTEMPTING TO LAND ON RUNWAY 21, JUST BEFORE THE TAIL TOUCHED DOWN HE APPLIED TOO MUCH BRAKE AND THE AIRCRAFT NOSED OVER AND CAME TO REST UPSIDE DOWN ON THE RUNWAY.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ANC21LA045](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ANC21LA045), Jun 6, 2021: Cessna A185F (N85DT), Chandalar Lake, AK, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s over application of the brakes, which resulted in a nose over.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
