## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ONE JUNE 14 2021 AT 0700 LOCAL DURING DESCENT INTO KLXV THE AIRCRAFT EXPERIENCED AN UNCOMMANDED LOSS OF POWER AND LANDED OFF AIRPORT. BOTH OCCUPANTS WERE UNINJURED BUT THE AIRCRAFT SUSTAINED SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE.

COMMENT:

THE PIC EXPLAINED THEY WERE DESCENDING INTO KLXV WITH THE GEAR DOWN AND FLAPS 10 DEGREES WHEN THE ENGINE FELT LIKE SOMEONE HAD JUST SMOOTHLY PULLED POWER TO IDLE AND FAILED. THE PIC AND PILOT PASSENGER ATTEMPTED TO RESTART THE ENGINE WITH NO SUCCESS. THEY TURNED SLIGHTLY TO THE LEFT AND LANDED IN AN OFF AIRPORT ENVIRONMENT OF WILLOWS. THE WRECKAGE WAS REMOVED VIA HELICOPTER AND THEN TRANSPORTED TO A STORAGE FACILITY FOR FURTHER EXAMINATION.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN21LA271](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN21LA271), Jun 14, 2021: Cessna T210L (N30286), Buena Vista, CO, substantial damage. Probable cause: The partial loss of engine power due to a vane failure in the engine-driven fuel pump.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
