## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON THE DATE OF THE ACCIDENT THE PILOT ARRIVED AT THE FIELD HE WAS TO SPRAY. HE LINED UP WITH A SAVED PATTERN ON A FIELD THAT HE HAD PARTIALLY SPRAYED ON 06/18/2021. THE PILOT MADE HIS FIRST PASS GOING NORTH ON THE FIELD AND MADE A TURN FOR HIS SECOND PASS. DURING THIS SECOND PASS THE PILOT NOTICED THE CHEMICALS IN THE HOPPER WERE REACTING AND FOAMING OVER THRU THE HOPPER VENT. HE PULLED UP OUT OF THE SECOND PASS AND LOOKED BEHIND THE AIRCRAFT AND NOTICED THE CHEMICAL FOAMING OUT OF THE HOPPER OVERFLOW. WHEN THE PILOT TURNED BACK TO LOOK FORWARD THE CHEMICAL LOAD WAS REACTING VIOLENTLY AND STARTING TO OVERFLOW FROM THE HOPPER LID TO THE POINT THAT HIS VISION THROUGH THE WINDSCREEN AND SIDE WINDOWS WAS COMPLETELY OBSCURED. HE ATTEMPTED TO USE THE WINDSHIELD WASHER AND WIPER AND NEITHER OF THEM WAS EFFECTIVE. HE LOOKED AT THE ALTIMETER TO SEE IF HE WAS GAINING OR LOSING ALTITUDE BUT DUE TO HIS PROXIMITY TO THE GROUND WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE IF HE WAS GAINING OR LOSING ALTITUDE. AFTER A SECOND OR TWO HE MADE THE DECISION TO OPEN THE SIDE WINDOW TO SEE WHAT ALTITUDE THE AIRPLANE WAS AT, AND TO SEE IF HE COULD POSSIBLE FLY THE AIRCRAFT TO SAFETY. AS HE OPENED THE WINDOW HE MADE IMPACT WITH THE GROUND. THE AIRPLANE WAS IN A MOSTLY LEVEL ATTITUDE WHEN IT STRUCK THE GROUND. THE AIRCRAFT TRAVELED APPROXIMATELY 600 FEET AFTER IMPACT. THE AIRCRAFT SUSTAINED SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE AND THE PILOT WAS NOT INJURED.
