## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON JUNE 26, 2021 AT APPROXIMATELY 1320, A BELL 47G LIFTED OFF FROM A TRANSPORT TRAILER AT A GRASS STRIP LOCATED IN BRASSTOWN, NORTH CAROLINA.

AFTER LIFTING OFF FROM THE TRAILER AND PROCEEDING FORWARD IN A NORTH EASTERLY DIRECTION AND AT AN ALTITUDE OF 4 TO 5 FEET ABOVE THE GROUND, THE AIRCRAFT BECAME UNSTABLE CAUSING THE MAIN ROTOR BLADES TO STRIKE THE GROUND MULTIPLE TIMES; THE RIGHT LANDING SKID FORCEFULLY CONTACTED THE GROUND CAUSING IT TO SEPARATE FROM THE AIRCRAFT AND WAS LOCATED 55 FEET FROM THE AIRCRAFT. THE AIRCRAFT BOUNCED AND SPUN IN A CLOCKWISE DIRECTION APPROXIMATELY 180 DEGREES. AS THE AIRCRAFT WAS SPINNING, THE TAIL ROTOR STRUCK THE GROUND, CAUSING THE TAIL STRUCTURE TO SLIGHTLY FOLD TO THE RIGHT UNTIL THE AIRCRAFT CAME TO REST. THE AIRCRAFT WAS FOUND LAYING ON IT`S LEFT SIDE, FACING THE TRANSPORT TRAILER.

THERE WAS A POST CRASH FIRE WHICH CONSUMED MUCH OF THE AIRCRAFT. THE FIRE WAS OF HIGH INTENSITY AS SEVERAL METAL PARTS OF THE AIRCRAFT WERE FOUND TO HAVE BEEN MELTED.

THERE WERE NO REPORTED INJURIES.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ERA21LA272](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ERA21LA272), Jun 28, 2021: Bell 47G-2A-1 (N147AH), Brasstown, NC, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s inflight loss of control while conducting a hovering maneuver.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
