## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

INITIAL REPORT. ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^, WAS SCHEDULED TO FLY DCA-CMH. AT THE TIME OF THE AIRCRAFT PUSH DCA WAS EXPERIENCING SEVERE WEATHER AND THE RAMP WAS BEING CLEARED OF PERSONNEL. AS THE TUG CREW TRIED TO STOP THE PUSH BACK THE TUG WAS UNABLE TO STOP THE PUSH DUE TO HIGH WINDS IMPACTING THE AIRCRAFT. THE AIRCRAFT?S RIGHT WING AND ENGINE IMPACTED ANOTHER TUG. THE AIRCRAFT STOPPED WHERE IT WAS AND THE 65 PAX AND CREW ONBOARD DEPLANED VIA AIR STAIRS AND WERE BUSSED TO THE TERMINAL. NO PAX OR CREW WERE INJURED IN THE INCIDENT. . UPDATE AS OF 7/6/21- REPORTED WEATHER AROUND THE TIME OF THIS EVENT WAS WNW WINDS, 38 MPH GUSTING TO 53 MPH IN HEAVY T-STORM/WIND. ACCORDING TO LOCAL NEWS, THERE IS CONFIRMATION THAT AN EF-1 TORNADO TOUCHED DOWN NORTHWEST OF DCA AROUND THE TIME OF THIS EVENT. WE ALSO RECEIVED CONFIRMATION THAT PUSHBACK WAS CONDUCTED WITH NO HEADSETS DUE TO LIGHTNING IN THE AREA. ACCORDING TO COMPANY STATEMENT, BOTH ENGINES WERE RUNNING AT THE TIME OF THE EVENT AND PUSHBACK WAS COMPLETED. TUG CRADLE WAS LOWERED AND MOVED AWAY 2 FEET FROM AIRCRAFT WHEN AIRCRAFT WEATHERVANE TO THE LEFT AND HIT TUG WITH RIGHT ENGINE. SO FAR, COMPANY REPORTED JUST DAMAGE TO RIGHT ENGINE COWLING.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
