## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ABEAM THE APPROACH END OF THE UNCHARTED GRASS STRIP, AT A LOW ALTITUDE/AIRSPEED/POWER SETTING, PILOT ALLOWED PASSENGER (WITH REVOKED PILOT CERTIFICATE) TO TAKE CONTROL OF THE AIRCRAFT. PASSENGER TURNED AIRCRAFT TOWARDS BASE LEG, AND ACCORDING TO PILOT THE AIRCRAFT "SPIRALED" AND STRUCK A KNOWN POWER LINE 6" INBOARD OF THE LEFT WINGTIP, AND THE AIRCRAFT IMPACTED THE TERRAIN BELOW THE POWERLINES.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ERA21LA283](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ERA21LA283), Jul 10, 2021: Bailey N Moyes Dragonfly (N346FL), Charlestown, NH, substantial damage, 1 fatal. Probable cause: The passenger’s decision to continue an unstable approach while at low altitude and in proximity to a known obstacle, which resulted in a collision with power lines.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
