## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

N773GP WAS COMPLETING A TOUCH AND GO LANDING AFTER AN INSTRUMENT APPROACH. PIC WAS AT THE CONTROLS. AFTER TOUCHDOWN AND DURING NORMAL ROLL OUT, THE NOSE BEGAN TO DROP DUE TO METAL FAILURE IN THE NOSE GEAR STRUT. NOSE WHEEL ASSEMBLY COLLAPSED CAUSING THE PROPELLER TO STRIKE THE PAVEMENT. AIRCRAFT SKIDDED APPROXIMATELY 2000 FEET DOWN, AND REMAINED ON, THE RUNWAY. DAMAGE TO NOSE GEAR, WHEEL FAIRING, COWLING, AND PROPELLER.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
