## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOT STATED HE DEPARTED MAZZA AIRPORT, VA73, LOCATED IN MATOACA, VA AT APPROXIMATELY 1915. PILOT WAS ENROUTE TO A FRIEND'S FIELD (NOT AN ESTABLISHED GRASS STRIP FOR AIRCRAFT). THE FIELD WAS APPROXIMATELY 10 MINUTES AWAY FROM VA73. IT WAS A CLEAR VFR DAY. THE AIRCRAFT SUCCESSFULLY LANDED ON THE FIELD. HOWEVER, ONCE THE AIRCRAFT SLOWED DURING TAXI, THE LEFT TIRE CAUGHT A SOFT SPOT IN THE DAMP GRASS AND FLIPPED THE AIRCRAFT OVER CAUSING DAMAGE TO THE TAIL, WINGS, FUSELAGE, AND PROPELLER.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ERA21LA294](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ERA21LA294), Jul 19, 2021: Turbine Cubs Of Wyoming PA-18 Super CUB (N507TC), Dinwiddie, VA, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s failure to maintain control while taxiing on soft ground, which resulted in a nose-over.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
