## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON 07/26/2021 - AT APPROXIMATELY 0940 LOCAL, N72129 WAS CONDUCTING A TOUCH AND GO AT KMBT ON RUNWAY 36. AFTER TAKEOFF, THE ENGINE STOPPED ABRUPTLY. N72129 MADE A RIGHT TURN IN AN ATTEMPT TO LAND ON THE EAST/WEST BOUND ROAD NORTH OF THE AIRPORT. ON APPROACH TO THE ROAD, N72129 STRUCK THE POWER LINES, CAUSING THE AIRCRAFT TO HIT THE STREET IN A NOSE DOWN ATTITUDE. THE AIRCRAFT SLID APPROXIMATELY 100 YARDS, BEFORE COMING TO A STOP.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ERA21LA300](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ERA21LA300), Jul 26, 2021: Cessna 140 (N72129), Murfreesboro, TN, substantial damage. Probable cause: A total loss of engine power as a result of carburetor icing.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
