## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON 07/27/2021 N327TT WAS PILOTED BY ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^. SHORTLY AFTER TAKEOFF THE ENGINE STOPPED PRODUCING POWER JUST AFTER TAKEOFF AND AN EMERGENCY OFF FIELD LANDING ENSUED APPROXIMATELY 2000 FT. FROM THE DEPARTURE FIELD. THE AIRCRAFT TOUCHED DOWN IN A FIELD APPROXIMATELY 500 FEET FROM WHERE IT STOPPED. ON THIS EXPERIMENTAL WEIGHT SHIFT CONTROL AIRCRAFT ONE TOE PEDAL CONTROLLED THE BREAK AND THE OTHER CONTROLLED THE THROTTLE. AFTER LANDING IN THE FIELD THE POWER WAS RESTORED ON THE AIRCRAFT. THE PASSENGER BELIEVES HE INADVERTENTLY APPLIED BOTH PEDALS CAUSING THE THROTTLE TO INCREASE TO MAX RPM'S. AS THE AIRCRAFT BEGAN TO GAIN SPEED ON THE GROUND ROLL IT SUBSEQUENTLY HIT A LARGE FENCE POST COMING TO AN ABRUPT STOP.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ERA21LA305](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ERA21LA305), Jul 28, 2021: Tucker Twin (N327TT), Unionville, TN, substantial damage. Probable cause: The loss of directional control during a precautionary landing, which resulted in a collision with a fence post.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
