## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON JULY 27, 2021, N110CG WAS IN THE PROCESS OF DEPARTING BLOCK ISLAND. THE PREVAILING WEATHER WAS VISUAL METEOROLOGICAL CONDITIONS. THE AIRCRAFT WAS DEPARTING ON RUNWAY 28 WHICH IS 2502 FEET IN LENGTH. ON THE TAKEOFF ROLL THE PASSENGER NOTED THAT THE BAGGAGE DOOR WAS OPEN. ACCORDING TO THE PILOT?S STATEMENT, THE AIRCRAFT HAD REACHED ROTATIONAL SPEED WHEN THE PASSENGER NOTED THE OPEN BAGGAGE DOOR. THE SPEED OF THE AIRCRAFT IS UNABLE TO BE VERIFIED. THE PILOT ELECTED TO ABORT THE TAKEOFF OUT OF CONCERN FOR HIS PETS ON BOARD. ACCORDING TO THE PILOT?S STATEMENT, HE ABORTED THE TAKEOFF BY REDUCING POWER AND APPLYING BOTH BRAKES. THE PILOT WAS UNABLE TO STOP ON THE REMAINING RUNWAY. THE AIRCRAFT CONTINUED THROUGH THE SAFETY AREA AND IMPACTED THE CHAIN LINK AIRPORT PERIMETER FENCE. THE PILOT DID NOT NOTE ANY BRAKE ISSUES. THE AIRCRAFT CAME TO REST ON THE WEST SIDE OF CENTER ROAD AGAINST THE GUARDRAIL. ALL OCCUPANTS DISEMBARKED THE AIRCRAFT WITH NO INJURIES. THE PILOT STATED HE LATCHED BUT DID NOT LOCK THE BAGGAGE DOOR AND DID NOT OBSERVE ANY ISSUES WITH THE LATCH. THE PROPELLER WAS DAMAGED WITH A LONGITUDINAL TWISTING IN THE BLADES. THE LEFT WING HAD A DENT APPROXIMATELY 4-5? WIDE AND 1? DEEP ON THE LEADING EDGE LOCATED IN THE FIRST THIRD OF THE WING CLOSEST TO THE FUSELAGE. THE LEFT WINGTIP DETACHED FROM THE WING CONSISTENT WITH A FENCE POST IMPACT. APPROXIMATELY HALFWAY DOWN THE RIGHT SIDE WING, THE AIRCRAFT SKIN IS TORN A FOOT AND A HALF TO THE SPAR ALONG A RIVET LINE FROM THE LEADING EDGE TOWARDS THE TRAILING EDGE OF THE WING. THE SIGNIFICANT CRUSHING AND SPAR DAMAGE OF THE RIGHT WING IS CONSISTENT WITH IMPACTING A FENCE POST. THE RIGHT SIDE WING ROOT SUSTAINED A TEAR BEGINNING AT THE LEADING EDGE AND CONTINUING ROUGHLY 3-4? TOWARDS THE TRAILING EDGE. THERE WAS NO DEFORMATION OF THE CABIN AND THE LANDING GEAR REMAINED UPRIGHT AND EXTENDED.
