## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

UPON RETURN TO FT. WORTH MEACHAM, TX AIRPORT (FTW) FROM A MULTI-ENGINE INSTRUCTIONAL FLIGHT, WITH A STUDENT PILOT AND FLIGH INSTRUCTOR (CFI) ON BOARD, THE CREW WERE PRACTICING SHORT-FIELD LANDINGS ON RWY 16. ONE SUCCESSFUL LANDING WAS MADE TERMINATING WITH A TOUCH AND GO. THE CREW ENTERED A LEFT HAND TRAFFIC PATTERN FOR RWY 16. FLIGHT SCHOOL STANDARD OPERATING PROCEDURES CALL FOR THE LANDING GEAR TO BE LOWERED ON THE DOWNWIND LEG, CHECKING THE LANDING GEAR ANNUCIATORS, AND VISUALLY OBSERVING A REFLECTION OF THE NOSE GEAR ON A MIRROR MOUNTED TO THE LEFT ENGINE INBOARD COWLING. LANDING GEAR IS VERIFIED DOWN ON THE BASE LEG, ON THE FINAL LEG, AND AGAIN ON SHORT FINAL. EACH TIME BOTH CREW MEMBERS REPORTED LANDING GEAR SAFELY EXTENDED. THE CFI REPORTED THAT THE STUDENT HAD MADE A NORMAL LANDING WHEN AFTER TOUCHDOWN THE NOSE LANDING GEAR RETRACTED. THE AIRPLANE CAME TO REST ON THE RUNWAY CENTERLINE. BOTH MAIN LANDING GEAR ASSEMBLIES REMAINED EXTENDED, WITH THE AIRCRAFT SUSTAINING SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE TO BOTH 3-BLADE PROPELLERS, THE AIRCRAFT NOSE RADOME, AND NOSE LANDING GEAR DOORS.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
