## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON AUGUST 8, 2021 AT APPROXIMATELY 1315 LOCAL TIME, A PIPER PA28-140 (N5511F)ENROUTE FROM LINCOLNTON, NC (IPJ) TO STANLY COUNTY AIRPORT (VUJ), EXPERIENCED A BIRD STRIKE WHILE AT AN ALTITUDE OF 3,200 FEET. THE PILOT CONTACTED CONCORD TOWER (JQF) AND REPORTED A BIRDSTRIKE, BUT STATED NO NEGATIVE FLIGHT CHARACTERISTICS. THE PILOT RECEIVED CLEARANCE TO LAND ON RUNWAY 20. AFTER LANDING, THE PILOT NOTED DAMAGE TO THE LEADING EDGE OF THE VERTICAL STABILIZER. NO INJURIES WERE REPORTED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
