## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

N905JS DEPARTED KGIF ON 08/08/2021 AT APPROXIMATELY 1500 TO LAKE FANNIE IN WINTER HAVEN, FL. AFTER 10-15 MINUTES OF FLYING THE PILOT MADE AN APPROACH DOWNWIND ALONG THE NORTH SHORE OF THE LAKE HEADING WEST, TURNED SOUTH ON BASE AND EAST ON FINAL, AND PERFORMED A SEA LANDING IN THE APPROXIMATE CENTER OF LAKE FANNIE. THE PILOT STATED THAT THE WATER WAS CALM, THE WEATHER WAS CLEAR, AND HE LANDED SMOOTHLY. THE PILOT PROCEEDED TO SHUT DOWN THE ENGINE AND THE PLANE SLOWED IN THE WATER. THE PILOT STATED THAT THERE WAS POSSIBLY A BUMP AT THE RIGHT FLOAT AFTER WHICH THE FLOAT SANK. THIS CAUSED THE RIGHT WING TO DIP INTO THE WATER. THE PLANE CAME TO A STOP AND BEGAN TO ROLL OVER INTO THE WATER UNTIL IT COMPLETELY CAPSIZED IN THE LAKE. THE PILOT WAS THE ONLY ONE ON BOARD THE AIRCRAFT AND WAS NOT INJURED. THIS WAS THE PILOT'S FIRST AND ONLY TIME LANDING ON LAKE FANNIE.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
