## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ WENT TO THE GREENVILLE AIRPORT (GRE) TO PRACTICE SOME FULL-STOP LANDINGS. HE MADE A COUPLE OF SUCCESSFUL LANDINGS IN THE GRASSY PART OF THE AIRPORT AND THEN DECIDED TO LAND ON THE HARD SURFACE. THE LANDING WENT WELL, BUT ON THE ROLLOUT, HE GROUND-LOOPED THE AIRCRAFT. DURING BRAKING IT CAUSED THE AIRCRAFT TO TIP UP ON THE NOSE STRIKING THE PROP, IT THEN SPUN THE AIRCRAFT AROUND AND WENT INVERTED ON THE BACK OF THE AIRCRAFT CAUSING DAMAGE TO THE VERTICAL STABILIZER. ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ SELF-EVACUATED FROM THE AIRCRAFT WITH MINOR INJURIES (BUMP ON HIS HEAD AND A CUT ON A FINGER).

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN21LA374](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN21LA374), Aug 13, 2021: Cessna 140 (N77365), Greenville, IL, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s failure to maintain directional control during taxi which resulted in a ground loop.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
