## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON AUGUST 16, 2021 N477JM, A BEECHCRAFT 200 KING AIR AIRCRAFT DEPARTED EAGLE RIVER UNION AIRPORT (EGV) WISCONSIN WITH ONE PILOT AND TWO PASSENGERS ON BOARD FOR AN ON-DEMAND FLIGHT UNDER CFR 135 RULES FOR ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^. UPON ROTATION FROM THE RUNWAY AT APPROXIMATELY 20 FEET ALTITUDE THE LEFT WING OF THE AIRCRAFT STRUCK WHAT WAS DETERMINED TO BE A HAWK. THE PILOT HEARD SOMETHING STRIKE THE AIRCRAFT AND NOTED A DENT IN THE LEADING EDGE OF THE LEFT WING. UPON REACHING PATTERN ALTITUDE HE INFORMED THE PASSENGERS THAT THEY HAD LIKELY STRUCK A BIRD AND WERE GOING TO CIRCLE BACK TO AND LAND AT THE AIRPORT AS A PRECAUTIONARY MEASURE. UPON LANDING AND INSPECTION IT WAS NOTED THAT THE DENT WAS SIGNIFICANT ENOUGH TO CANCEL FURTHER FLIGHT AND THE PASSENGERS WERE BOOKED ON ALTERNATE TRANSPORTATION. THE PILOT AND DIRECTOR OF MAINTENANCE REQUESTED A FERRY FLIGHT PERMIT FROM THE MILWAUKEE FSDO AND THE AIRCRAFT WAS FLOWN TO TIMMERMAN AIRPORT (MWC) LATER THAT DAY FOR REPAIRS. THERE WERE NO INJURIES TO THE CREW OR PASSENGERS AS A RESULT OF THE WILDLIFE STRIKE AND THE AIRCRAFT SUSTAINED MINOR DAMAGE.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
