## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

08/26/2021: AIRCRAFT WAS EMPTY PA-18 LANDING ON RWY 18 AT 4AK6. WHEN CROSSING THRESHOLD AT ~20' AGL, AIRCRAFT ENCOUNTERED SEVERE CROSSWIND FROM THE LEFT CAUSING UPSET WITH NEAR LOSS OF CONTROL. PILOT RECOVERED AND LANDED WITHOUT FURTHER INCIDENT AND BACK TAXIED TO APPROACH END TO EXIT TOWARD HANGAR. WHILE CLEARING RUNWAY ONTO Z TAXIWAY, AIRCRAFT ENCOUNTERED SEVERE PROPWASH FROM BE-200 AT 145 REPAIR STATION HANGAR PERFORMING FULL POWER ENGINE RUNS WITH THRUST DIRECTED TOWARD TXWY/RWY INTERSECTION. WASH LIFTED RIGHT WING AND SPUN AIRCRAFT HARD OVER ONTO THE LEFT WING BENDING SPAR. BE-200 WAS NOT PREVIOUSLY VISIBLE TO PILOT DUE TO MULTIPLE AIRCRAFT INCLUDING BE-1900 PARKED IN RUNWAY AND TAXIWAY EASEMENTS. BE-200 WAS NOT MONITORING ANY RADIOS AND PILOT HAD TO CALL 145 OWNER ON CELL PHONE TO GET ENGINE RUNS TO STOP.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR21LA328](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR21LA328), Aug 20, 2021: Piper PA-18-150 (N89ZW), Wasilla, AK, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s inability to maintain control of the airplane during taxi after it encountered the prop wash from a larger airplane that was conducting a high-power engine run on the same taxiway.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
