## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE ST. LOUIS FLIGHT STANDARDS OFFICE WAS CONTACTED BY THE NATIONAL PARKS SERVICE THAT A SMALL UNMANNED AIRCRAFT SYSTEM (SUAS) HAD CRASHED INTO THE OLD COURTHOUSE LOCATED WITHIN THE GATEWAY ARCH NATIONAL PARK. THE DESTROYED SUAS WAS RECOVERED BY NATIONAL PARK SERVICE PERSONNEL. THE PILOT APPROACHED NATIONAL PARKS SERVICE PERSONNEL IN AN ATTEMPT TO RECOVER THE SUAS. THE SUAS WRECKAGE WAS RETURNED TO THE PILOT AFTER PAYING A FINE. THE PILOT WAS FLYING IN A NATIONAL PARKS RESTRICTED AREA AND DOES NOT POSSESS A REMOTE PILOT CERTIFICATE. THERE WERE NO INJURIES OUR DAMAGE TO THE STRUCTURE OF THE OLD COURTHOUSE.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
