## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON 08/26/2021 AT 0900 N8555N A BEECHCRAFT 35-B33 SERIAL NUMBER CD-640 DEPARTED SCOTTSBORO AIRPORT (4A6) RUNWAY 04 . SHORTLY AFTER LIFT OFF THE PILOT STATED THE AIRCRAFT WAS FLYING STRANGE AND DECIDED TO LAND ON THE REMAINING RUNWAY. SOON AFTER LANDING THE PILOT REALIZED THE LANDING GEAR WAS RETRACTED AND THE AIRCRAFT LANDED GEAR UP. THE GEAR HANDLE WAS IN THE UP POSITION AND HE DID NOT REMEMBER RAISING THE GEAR. THE AIRCRAFT RECEIVED MINOR DAMAGE AND NO INJURY TO THE OCCUPANT ONBOARD

PRIOR TO THE FLIGHT ON 08/26/2021 THE OWNER OF THE AIRCRAFT CONTACTED MR. KINNISON AND ASKED IF HE COULD FLY THE AIRCRAFT TO LAFAYETTE, GA (9A5) TO HAVE IT LOOKED AT BY MAINTENANCE DUE TO A CONSTANT GEAR WARNING ANNUNCIATOR (HORN) UPON LANDING SEVERAL DAYS EARLIER. HE AGREED TO FLY THE AIRCRAFT FOR HIM.

MR. KINNISON CONDUCTED A PREFLIGHT ON THE AIRCRAFT 08/26/2021 , BUT DOES NOT REMEMBER IF THE GEAR WAS IN THE DOWN POSITION. HE STATED THAT THE GEAR ANNUNCIATOR WARNING HORN WAS SOUNDING AS HE TAXIED TO THE RUNWAY FOR DEPARTURE. HE BEGAN THE TAKEOFF ROLL AND ROTATED TO GET AIRBORNE AND THE ANNUNCIATOR (HORN) QUIT ONCE HE WAS AIRBORNE.

THE LOCAL MAINTENANCE FACILITY ON FIELD RECOVERED THE AIRCRAFT FROM THE RUNWAY AND NOTICED THE GEAR HANDLE WAS IN THE DOWN POSITION. THE PILOT STATED HE MOVED THE GEAR HANDLE TO THE DOWN POSITION AFTER THE AIRCRAFT STOPPED IN THE RUNWAY. THE LANDING GEAR WAS EXTENDED MANUALLY AFTER LIFTING THE AIRCRAFT, AND THE GEAR WAS DOWN AND LOCKED FOR TOWING. THE AIRCRAFT WAS TOWED TO THE RAMP AND THEN MOVED TO THE MAINTENANCE HANGAR FOR A LANDING GEAR EXAMINATION

INVESTIGATION OF THE LANDING GEAR FOUND IT TO FUNCTION PROPERLY. THE GEAR HANDLE WAS PLACED IN THE UP POSITION WITH THE AIRCRAFT WEIGHT ON THE WHEELS AND THE GEAR HORN SOUNDED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
