## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

2021-08-29 N730FA CIRRUS SF50, BIRD STRIKE ON DEPARTURE KDLH.

DURING TAKEOFF FROM KDLH EVERYTHING WAS NORMAL ALTHOUGH AT TAKEOFF ROTATION OR SHORTLY THEREAFTER PIC SAW A COUPLE OF BIRDS GO BY THE LEFT-WING TIP AND MAY HAVE PERCEIVED SOMETHING IN THE AIRFRAME THAT COULD HAVE BEEN INDICATIVE OF A BIRD STRIKE. ONCE STABILIZED IN THE CLIMB FOLLOWING TAKEOFF, TOWER WAS ADVISED THAT A MAY HAVE STRUCK A BIRD AT THE ROTATION POINT OF THE TAKEOFF ROLL. ALL SYSTEMS WERE NOMINAL DURING THE INITIAL CLIMB SO THE PIC ELECTED TO CONTINUE WITH THE FLIGHT AND THEN ADVISED ATC. THE AIRCRAFT CONTINUED TO KSLH AND LANDED WITHOUT FURTHER INCIDENT. A LATER INSPECTION FOUND BIRD REMNANTS ON THE LEFT PITOT MAST AND A CRACK IN THE WELD AT THE BASE OF THE PITOT MAST. NO INJURIES, MINOR DAMAGE. ATC LATER ADVISED PIC THAT THE REMNANTS OF A JUVENILE GULL WERE RECOVERED AT THE REPORTED LOCATION.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
