## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE COMMERCIAL PILOT WAS LANDING AND REALIZED THAT THE LANDING GEAR HAD NOT BEEN DEPLOYED. HE THEN APPLIED FULL POWER FOR A GO-AROUND. THE PROPELLER HAD TOUCHED THE RUNWAY SURFACE CAUSING SEVERE DAMAGE TO THE BLADES. THE AIRCRAFT COULD NOT PRODUCE LIFT AND THE AIRPLANE SETTLED INTO A FIELD A FEW HUNDRED YARDS FROM THE AIRPORT. THE DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT WAS SUBSTANTIAL. THE PILOT DID NOT SUSTAIN INJURIES.

AIRCRAFT RECORDS WERE REVIEWED AND FOUND TO HAVE PROPER AIRCRAFT

CERTIFICATION AND CURRENT AIRCRAFT INSPECTION STATUS. PILOT RECORDS WERE

REVIEWED AND FOUND TO HAVE THE CORRECT CERTIFICATION AND QUALIFICATION

FOR THE FLIGHT.

CORRECTIVE ACTION INCLUDES COUNSELING THE PILOT.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR21LA334](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR21LA334), Sep 3, 2021: Bellanca 17-30A (N15DQ), Hurricane, UT, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's failure to extend the landing gear

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
