## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

AIRCRAFT DEPARTED KPIB FOR A FLIGHT TO MAGEE, MS (17M). THE PILOT MADE A HARD LANDING SHORT OF THE RUNWAY AND THE AIRCRAFT BOUNCED BACK INTO THE AIR. THE PILOT PROCEEDED BACK TO KPIB WHERE SOCATA INSPECTED THE AIRCRAFT AND DETERMINED THAT IT WAS DAMAGED BEYOND REPAIR.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN21LA470](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN21LA470), Sep 5, 2021: Socata TBM 700 (N700DQ), Magee, MS, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot exceeded the airplane’s critical angle of attack during the landing approach resulting in an aerodynamic stall and subsequent hard landing.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
