## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

AIRMAN CONDUCTED ROUND-TRIP CROSS COUNTRY FLIGHT DEPARTING MONMOUTH EXECUTIVE AIRPORT (KBLM) TO TAMPA NORTH AERO PARK (X39). PILOT LANDED FOR FUEL AT INTERMEDIATE FUEL STOP WITH MINIMAL RESERVES AND EXPERIENCED FUEL BURN OF 12 GALLONS PER HOUR.

AIRMEN'S RETURN FLIGHT TO HOME AIRPORT RESULTED IN BURN RATE OF 20 GPH. PILOT LANDED WITH MINIMAL FUEL AT FIRST REFUELING POINT. DURING REFUEL, FUELER NOTIFIED PILOT THERE WAS MINIMAL FUEL REMAINING IN TANKS, BUT PILOT DID NOT INVESTIGATE CAUSE OF ABNORMAL FUEL CONSUMPTION AND CONTINUED FLIGHT.

WHILE FLYING TO HOME AIRPORT, PILOT CONTACTED ATC TO DIVERT TO LOCAL AIRPORT FOR FUEL. DURING LANDING, AIRMAN EXECUTED GO-AROUND FOR UNSTABLE APPROACH. DURING SECOND LANDING, PILOT EXPERIENCED INTERMITTENT LOSS OF POWER IN TRAFFIC PATTERN, LANDED WITH GUSTY TAILWIND AND VEERED OFF RUNWAY, COLLAPSING NOSE GEAR AFTER STRIKING APRON LIGHTS AND TAXIWAY SIGN.

INVESTIGATION INDICATED NO FUEL REMAINING IN AIRCRAFT FUEL TANKS.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
