## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

BECAUSE OF OTHER AIRCRAFT IN THE TRAFFIC PATTERN, THE PILOT EXTENDED HIS DOWNWIND LEG AND DID NOT LOWER THE GEAR WHERE HE NORMALLY DOES ON THE DOWNWIND LEG. HE THEN CONTINUED TO BASE, FINAL AND TOUCHDOWN NEVER LOWERING THE LANDING GEAR. BECAUSE HE WAS WEARING NOISE CANCELLING HEADSETS HE DID NOT HEAR THE GEAR WARNING. THE AIRCRAFT TOUCHED DOWN ON THE CENTERLINE AND SLID TO A STOP LEFT OF CENTERLINE. THE AIRCRAFT RECEIVED MINOR DAMAGE. THERE WERE NO INJURIES.

- [Incident 19861115070839I](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19861115070839I), Nov 15, 1986: Piper PA32R301 (N81593), Oklahoma City, OK, Minor damage. Electrical problem after takeoff. Returned and used incorrect manual extension procedures for gerar. Landed gar up.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
