## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOT STATED THAT HE PERSONALLY HAD FLOWN IN AND OUT OF GRAVEL STRIP ALONG RIVER MULTIPLE TIMES. PILOT STATED THAT WHEN HE WAS LANDING ON 1000 FOOT STRIP IT WAS A NORMAL APPROACH AND NORMAL TOUCH DOWN. ON ROLL OUT DURING LANDING PILOT STATED THE TAIL CONTINUED TO FLY AND HE WAS RUNNING OUT OF STRIP. HE ALSO STATED THAT A MORE TAIL LOW APPROACH WOULD HAVE BEEN BETTER BASED ON THE RUNWAY SURFACE. PILOT SAID HE APPLIED TO MUCH BRAKE AND THE NOSE OF THE AIRCRAFT CAME OVER AND MADE CONTACT WITH GROUND.

LOOKING BACK AT THE INCIDENT PILOT STATED AFTER DISCUSSION WITH HIS MENTOR, PILOT SHOULD HAVE PLACED ENGINE IN REVERSE TO GET THE TAIL TO COME DOWN AND LAND WITHOUT INCIDENT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
