EON-DRA MESSAGE TEXT: MYRTLE BEACH, SC: N4421M, PA12, MADE AN EMERGENCY LANDING ON THE BEACH NEAR 82ND AVE DUE TO THE AIRCRAFT EXPERIENCING A SUDDEN LOSS OF POWER. POB: 1, INJURIES: NONE, DAMAGE: EXTENT UNKNOWN. 09/19/2021 1740Z

PILOT STATEMENT: ON SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 19, 2021 I WAS SCHEDULED FOR A TWO HOUR BANNER TOW FLIGHT FROM 11:00AM TO 1:00PM. I CONDUCTED A PREFLIGHT EXAMINATION OF N4421M CHECKING THE FUEL QUANTITY AND QUALITY, THE ENGINE, OIL LEVEL, FLIGHT CONTROLS AND SURFACES. I PICKED UP THE BANNER AT APPROX. 10:45 AND PROCEEDED TO FLY SOUTHWEST BOUND TOWARDS SURFSIDE AND GARDEN CITY. THE FIRST 90 MINUTES OF THE FLIGHT WENT WITHOUT INCIDENT. HEADING NORTHEAST BETWEEN GARDEN CITY PIER AND SURFSIDE THE ENGINE COUGHED A LITTLE AND SEEMED TO RUN A LITTLE ROUGH. OIL TEMPERATURE AND PRESSURE WERE BOTH NORMAL, APPLIED CARB HEAT AND CHECKED MAGNETOS. ON THE WAY BACK TO CRE NEAR 82ND AVE AREA THE ENGINE SPUTTERED MORE SEVERELY AND THEN STOPPED. AT THAT POINT I RELEASED THE BANNER AND LOOKED FOR THE SAFEST PLACE TO PUT DOWN THE BEACH BELOW WAS CLEAR SO I DID A 360 DEGREE TURN AND PUT IT DOWN ON THE BEACH.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
