## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

FOLLOWING A THOROUGH PREFLIGHT, AT APPROXIMATELY 7:26 P.M., FLIGHT CREWMEMBER 1 ASSUMED THE LEFT SEAT. FLIGHT CREWMEMBER 2 ASSUMED THE RIGHT SEAT. ENGINE RUN-UP AND TESTING WAS NORMAL IN ALL REGARDS. TAKE-OFF WAS UNEVENTFUL, ALL GAUGES AND INDICATIONS WERE WITHIN NORMAL OPERATING LIMITS. IMMEDIATELY AFTER TAKEOFF THE ENGINE LOST POWER WHILE STILL AT FULL THROTTLE, CAUGHT MOMENTARILY, AND QUIT. THERE WAS INSUFFICIENT RUNWAY REMAINING TO PERFORM A RUNWAY LANDING. WHILE UNDERTAKING A CONTROLLED LANDING JUST BEYOND THE RUNWAY, THE AIRCRAFT STRUCK BUSHES AND ROLLED OVER.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ANC21LA096](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ANC21LA096), Sep 23, 2021: Piper PA-14 (N4276H), Chickaloon, AK, substantial damage. Probable cause: A total loss of engine power during takeoff for reasons that could not be determined based on the available information.

## Other reports on N4276H (1)

Matched to the same aircraft by N-number and date.

- [Accident 19860321008599A](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19860321008599A), Mar 21, 1986: Piper STCPA14 (N4276H), Memphis, TN, Substantial damage. Pulled propeller through to loosen starter, engine started. Hit a compressor. The ignition switch was on left mag.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
