## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

SAN JOSE, CA (SJC): ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^, BE40, SJC-JAC, DECLARED AN EMERGENCY DUE TO PRESSURIZATION ISSUE. PILOT REQUESTED TO RETURN TO SJC. AIRCRAFT LANDED WITHOUT FURTHER INCIDENT AT 2157Z.

PILOT DISCREPANCY NOTED IN AIRCRAFT MAINTENANCE LOGBOOK INDICATED THE FOLLOWING:

?CABIN ALTITUDE WAS HIGHER THAN NORMAL, NOTICED THE CABIN RATE CLIMBING @ 1000 PER MIN. THEN HEARD A WHISTLING NOISE CLOSE TO THE CABIN DOOR. ?CABIN PRESSURE LOW? LIGHT CAME ON. ONCE WE REACHED BELOW 20,000 THEN THE NOISE GOT QUIETER AFTER WE SELECTED ?BOTH HIGH? ON THE CABIN PRESSURE CONTROL. CABIN WOULD NOT MAINTAIN PRESSURE UNTIL WE WERE LOWER AND IN ?BOTH HIGH??.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
