## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

N8678Q, BE-35, HILLSBORO (KM66) KS. DURING A CROSS-COUNTRY TRIP, THE PILOT CHOSE TO LAND AT M66 SO HIS 90 Y-O MOTHER-IN-LAW COULD TO USE THE RESTROOM. THE AIRPLANE TOUCHED DOWN WITH THE LANDING GEAR RETRACTED AND SLID TO A STOP. ALL PERSONS EXITED THE AIRCRAFT SAFELY. PILOT TOLD THE LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER THAT HE "... JUST DIDN?T PUT THE GEAR DOWN". THE KHP TROOPER COMMENTED THE PILOT WAS NOT UNDER ANY INFLUENCE AND WAS VERY COOPERATIVE.

IIC HAD DIFFICULTIES CONNECTING WITH THE PILOT FOR A PHONE CONVERSATION. IIC LEFT 4 MESSAGES AND HAS MISSED 1 RETURN CALL THAT LEFT NO MESSAGE. PILOT LIVES IN TEXAS AND IIC IS UNABLE TO GET A STATEMENT FROM THE PILOT TO PROPERLY COMPLETE THIS REPORT.

IF, AT A LATER TIME, ANY ADDITIONAL FACTUAL EVIDENCE IS PRESENTED, THIS REPORT MAY BE AMENDED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
