## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

09/29/2021, 1024 LOCAL, N68TW LANDED ON RUNWAY 09 AT KBKV. AFTER LANDING, THE NOSE GEAR COLLAPSED. THE RIGHT WING CAME IN CONTACT WITH THE SURFACE RESULTING IN WING TIP DAMAGE AND MAIN SPAR CRACKED APPROXIMATELY SIX INCHES FROM THE OUTER END. THE PROP AND LOWER COWL WERE ALSO DAMAGED.

THE WIND WAS CALM DURING APPROACH AND LANDING.

THE CONTROL TOWER OPERATOR WAS INTERVIEWED, REPORTED NOTHING UNUSUAL ABOUT THE LANDING.

THIS ACCIDENT APPEARS TO HAVE RESULTED FROM A FAILURE OF THE NOSE GEAR LINKAGE. THE PART OR MANUFACTURE NAME IS NOT KNOWN AT THIS TIME, DUE TO THIS BEING AN EXPERIMENTAL KIT BUILT AIRCRAFT.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

Probable cause: The failure of the nose landing gear retention bolt during taxi which resulted in a loss of control and subsequent impact with the taxiway.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
