## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

DURING AN OFF AIRPORT LANDING ATTEMPT, AFTER AERIAL ASSESSMENT OF THE LANDING AREA, WHEN THE PILOT TOUCHED DOWN AT HIS INTENDED TOUCHDOWN POINT WHILE LANDING UPHILL HE CRESTED A SMALL HILL WITH TOO MUCH SPEED, INITIATED A GO AROUND, GOT AIRBORNE, AND THEN HIT THE LANDING GEAR ON THE NEXT HILL, THEREBY CAUSING THE AIRCRAFT TO NOSE OVER, COMING TO A REST ON ITS BACK. NO INJURIES. PROP STRIKE OCCURRED AS WELL AS SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE TO THE TAIL AND BOTH RIGHT WING STRUTS. THE WINGS APPEARED TO BE UNDAMAGED.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ANC21LA098](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ANC21LA098), Sep 29, 2021: Piper PA-18-150 (N9724P), Willow, AK, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s failure to maintain clearance to terrain following a go-around.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
