## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

AT APPROXIMATELY 0810 HAWAII LOCAL TIME N221LM, A SD3-60 AIRCRAFT, ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ A 14 CFR PART 135 ON DEMAND OPERATOR IMPACTED A GROUND VECHICLE DURING THE INITIAL TAXI PHASE.

THE MARSHALLER IN FRONT OF THE AIRCRAFT HAD PROBLEMS SEEING THE CREW IN THE COCKPIT AND MOVED CLOSER TO THE AIRCRAFT.

THE MARSHALLER WHILE WAITING FOR THE SIGNAL FROM THE CAPTAIN TO UNPUG THE GPU INDICATED HE SAW THE LANDING LIGHT FLASH AND THE CAPTAIN WITH TWO THUMPS UP.

THE MARSHALLER THEN GAVE THE SIGNAL TO THE GROUND CREW TO UNPLUG THE GROUND POWER UNIT (GPU) FROM THE AIRCRAFT, THE MASHALLER THEN MOVED AWAY FROM THE AIRCRAFT HOLDING HIS WANDS UP ABOVE HIS HEAD.

AT THIS MOMENT, THE MASHALLER INDICATED THE AIRCRAFT WAS MOVING FORWARD WITHOUT HIM GIVING THE SIGNAL TO TAXI TO THE PILOTS AND WHILE THE GROUND CREW WAS STILL UNPLUGGING THE GPU.

THE GROUND CREW, SEEING THE AIRPLANE MOVE, MOVED AWAY FROM THE AIRCRAFT AND SHORLTY AFTER THE AIRCRAFT IMPACTED THE TUG. THE MARSHALLER IMMEDIATELY HELD HIS WANDS IN AN X PATTERN SIGNAL TO STOP THE AIRCRAFT.

THE CAPTAIN STATED THE CREW COULD NOT SEE THE GROUND EQUIPMENT NEXT TO THE AIRPLANE AND AFTER RECEIVING A ?CLEAR GROUND" FROM HIS CO-PILOT AND INDICATION FROM THE MARSHALLER HOLDING THE WANDS IN A POSITION THAT INDICATED TO HIM THE AIRCRAFT WAS READY FOR TAXI, ADVANCED THE THROTTLE AND STARTED TAXIING.

RAINY WEATHER CONDITIONS EXISTED AT THE HILO (ITO) AIRPORT AT THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
