## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

LANDING PILOT, FLYING IN THE RIGHT SEAT, IS A PROPERLY CERTIFICATED RATED TAIL WHEEL PILOT. PIC IN LEFT SEAT IS PROPERLY CERTIFICATED RATED TAIL WHEEL PILOT WITH OVER 400 HOURS IN THIS AIRPLANE. PIC OBSERVED THAT LANDING WAS A GENERALLY SATISFACTORY 3 POINT TAIL WHEEL LANDING, WITH NO BOUNCE. HOWEVER, THE LANDING PILOT LET THE TAIL UP TOO SOON WHICH CAUSED THE PLANE'S LANDING DIRECTION TO DEVIATE FROM RW CENTER LINE. PIC TOOK THE CONTROLS TO CORRECT ROLLOUT HEADING BECAUSE THIS AIRPLANE ONLY HAS BRAKES ON THE LEFT SIDE. PIC OVER COMPENSATED WITH BRAKES CAUSING PLANE TO NOSE OVER, RESULTING IN THE ACCIDENT.

## Other aircraft in the event

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ERA22LA012](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ERA22LA012), Oct 9, 2021: Luscombe 8A (N4581M), Winchester, VA, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s misapplication of brakes during the landing roll which resulted in a nose-over event and substantial damage to the airplane.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
