## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON 10/9/21 A B737-900, N440AS ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ WAS TAXIING AT BNA RECEIVING GUIDANCE FROM GROUND MARSHALLERS DURING PARKING, WHEN THE LEFT WING SCIMITAR MADE CONTACT WITH A SET OF AIRSTAIRS CONNECTED TO THE JETBRIDGE AT GATE C6 CAUSING MINOR AIRCRAFT DAMAGE.

SOME KEY CONTRIBUTING FACTORS:

1. LEFT WINGWALKER FAILED TO STOP A/C MOVEMENT OR WARN MARSHALLER OF IMMINENT CONTACT WITH JETBRIDGE STAIRS.

2. MARSHALLER CONTINUED TO SIGNAL TO THE A/C TO CONTINUE TAXI

3. AIRPORT FAILED TO PAINT SAFETY LINE APPROPRIATE FOR SAFETY DISTANCE / CLEARANCE FOR A B737.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
