## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE PILOT HAD PARKED HIS PLANE ON THE ROW OF PARKING SPACES CLOSEST TO THE TERMINAL BUILDING. HE HAD BEEN REQUESTED MULTIPLE TIMES BY AIRPORT PERSONNEL TO NOT PARK THERE DUE TO THE SIZE OF HIS AIRCRAFT, FOR SAFETY REASONS, BUT HE REFUSED TO COMPLY WITH THE REQUEST. AS THE AIRCRAFT WAS SITTING IN THE PARKING SPACE, A TURNOUT TO THE RIGHT PROVIDED A PATH WITH NO OBSTRUCTIONS, BUT A TURNOUT TO THE LEFT DID NOT PROVIDE SUFFICIENT PATH TO TAXI DUE TO THE PRESENCE OF A FUEL TRUCK. THE PILOT STARTED THE AIRPLANE AND PULLED OUT OF THE PARKING SPACE, TURNING TO THE LEFT. AIRPORT SURVEILLANCE VIDEO SHOWS THAT THE AIRCRAFT WAS TAXIING AT AN EXCESSIVE RATE OF SPEED LEAVING THE PARKING SPACE AND SUBSEQUENTLY STRIKING THE FUEL TRUCK WITH THE RIGHT WINGTIP, CAUSING SEPARATION OF THE WINGTIP AND DAMAGE TO THE RIGHT AILERON. AT NO POINT DID THE PILOT REQUEST A WING-WALKER OR FOR THE FUEL TRUCK TO BE MOVED.
