## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

LANDED ON RW 31L AT PORTLAND-HILLSBORO (KHIO) WITH THE LANDING GEAR IN THE UP AND LOCKED POSITION. THE AIRCRAFT SKIDDED TO A HALT ON THE RUNWAY AND THERE WERE NO INJURIES REPORTED. THE DAMAGE TO THE BOTTOM OF THE FLOATS WAS DEEMED AS MINOR AND THE EVENT WAS CLASSIFIED AS AN INCIDENT.

^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ REPORTED THAT HE WAS ABOUT TO PUT THE GEAR DOWN ON DOWNWIND WHEN HIO TOWER TOLD HIM TO EXTEND FOR OTHER TRAFFIC IN THE PATTERN, SO HE DELAYED THE GEAR EXTENSION. FROM THERE HE CONTINUED THE REST OF THE PATTERN AND NEGLECTED TO NOTICE OR RECHECK THE GEAR INDICATION BEFORE LANDING. ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ ALSO SAID THE AURAL GEAR WARNING FAILED TO SOUND AN ALARM.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
