## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

AIRCRAFT WAS UNABLE TO ROTATE FOR TAKEOFF. CREW REJECTED TAKEOFF. AIRCRAFT OVERRAN THE END OF THE RUNWAY IMPACTING PERIMETER FENCE, POWER LINES, AND TREES COMING TO REST ABOUT 1,400 FEET FROM THE END OF RUNWAY 36. POST ACCIDENT EXAMINATION FOUND THE LEFT AND RIGHT ELEVATORS JAMMED IN A TRAILING EDGE DOWN POSITION AND COULD NOT BE MOVED WHEN MANIPULATED BY HAND. BOTH INBOARD ACTUATING CRANKS FOR BOTH ELEVATOR?S GEARED TABS WERE BENT OUTBOARD, AND THEIR RESPECTIVE LINKS WERE BENT. FURTHER, BOTH ACTUATING CRANKS AND LINKS WERE FOUND LOCKED IN AN OVERCENTER POSITION BEYOND THEIR NORMAL RANGE OF TRAVEL.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

Probable cause: The jammed condition of both elevators, which resulted from exposure to localized, dynamic high wind while the airplane was parked and prevented the airplane from rotating during the takeoff roll.…

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
