## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

OUR OFFICE WAS NOTIFIED ON OCTOBER 25, 2021 OF AN AIRPLANE INCIDENT THAT OCCURRED ON OCTOBER 24, 2021 AT APPROXIMATELY 12:33 LOCAL TIME. THE STUDENT PILOT, ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^WAS FLYING N7232S, A CESSNA 150H, FROM TOOELE VALLEY AIRPORT (KTVY) TO DELTA MUNICIPAL AIRPORT (KDTA) ON A SOLO CROSS-COUNTRY FLIGHT. THE AIRCRAFT DEPARTED KTVY AT APPROXIMATELY 11:15 LOCAL TIME. A LITTLE MORE THAN AN HOUR AFTER DEPARTURE AT AROUND 12:30 LOCAL TIME, THE PILOT HAD A FORCED LANDING DUE TO AN UNEXPECTED DOWNDRAFT WHILE OVER TERRAIN. THIS A VIOLATION OF TITLE 14 CFR PART 91.103.

THE AIRCRAFT EXPERIENCED MINIMAL DAMAGE INITIALLY TO THE PROPELLER FROM HITTING A ROCK WHILE LANDING. LATER THE AIRCRAFT SUSTAINED EXTENSIVE DAMAGE WHEN THE WIND BLEW IT OVER NEAR THE TOP OF A RIDGE LATER IN THE EVENING. THE AIRFRAME AND WINGS SUSTAINED SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE AND THE AIRCRAFT IS CONSIDERED TO BE TOTALED.

THE PILOT SUSTAINED NO INJURIES DUE TO THE LANDING, BUT SUSTAINED A MINOR SCRAPE ON HIS HIP WHEN EXITING THE AIRCRAFT.

PILOT HOURS ARE ESTIMATED DUE TO THE PILOT LOSING HIS LOGBOOK.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
