## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE PILOT OF N4058C, A R-22 HELICOPTER, CALLED SOCAL TRACON (INLAND EMPIRE AREA) ON IT'S LANDLINE TO INFORM THEM THAT WHILE FLYING VFR (NO ATC SERVICES), IT HAD MADE A PRECAUTIONARY LANDING DUE TO A MECHANICAL ISSUE.

THE R-22 HELICOPTER WAS FLYING EASTBOUND ALONG HIGHWAY 60 WHEN IT DEVELPED A LOUD VIBRATION AND THE CLUTCH LIGHT BEGAN FLICKERING. THE PILOT ENTERED AN AUTOROTATION AND LANDED IN A FIELD JUST NORTH OF HIGHWAY 60 AND ONE NM WEST OF THE ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ GOLF CLUB AT ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ CLUB HOUSE.

THE AIRCRAFT SUSTAINED NO DAMAGE. THERE WERE NO INJURIES TO THE CREW. THE AIRCRAFT WAS RECOVERED TO THE ROBINSON FACTORY IN TORRANCE, CA VIA GROUND TRANSPORTATION.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
