## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE LAST POINT OF DEPARTURE WAS LGC AND THE DESTINATION WAS 55SC, A PVT AIRFILED 5NM SOUTH OF ROCKHILL, SC. UPON ARRIVAL THE PILOT CONTACTED A MECHANIC VIA CELL PHONE WHILE STILL IN FLIGHT. HE STATED THAT HE WAS HAVING TROUBLE WITH THE LANDING GEAR. THE PILOT OPERATED IN THE LOCAL AREA OF 55SC FOR A PERIOD OF TIME AND THE MECHANIC ATTEMPTED TO EXPLAIN HOW TO DO A MANUAL GEAR EXTENSION. THE PILOT MADE A STATEMENT THAT I NEED TO ADD POWER AND THEN THE CALL WAS LOST.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ERA22FA047](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ERA22FA047), Nov 5, 2021: Piper PA30 (N8924Y), Rock Hill, SC, substantial damage, 1 fatal. Probable cause: The pilot’s exceedance of the airplane's critical angle of attack while troubleshooting a landing gear indication, which resulted in an aerodynamic stall at low altitude.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
